Francis Bayles: Timeline
1937 / 1965

When my father was at St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco,
and they were still unsure whether he'd live or die,
all the "Bayles Men" went down to have their pictures taken with him.
This included Francis, my grandfather David Arthur Bayles, and my
great-grandfather Daniel Bayles, the Civil War veteran for whom my dad was named.
- As a cute pirate at Halloween, "helping Grandpa" Bayles,
and with his clarinet in high school band -
- I remember for years Francis had
at least twenty model airplanes hanging from the ceiling of his bedroom.

(He typed the name on the Sophmore photo himself.)

(our beloved "Uncle Bob," Robert Lawrence Bayles,
who was killed on a PG&E powerpole accident
in 1957 when he was only 44 years old.)
